Over-head (pendent control) Crane Operator Training

The course content is based on Unit Standard 8038

The following assessment criteria are to be demonstrated by the learner on completion of a course applicable to the Lifting machine.

Course Content:
Module 1 Understanding Legislation
Module 2 Theoretical knowledge and safety rules
Module 3 Identify and state purpose of controls and components
Module 4 Completion of check list
Module 5 Read and understand information plates and load charts
Module 6 Correctly use control functions
Module 7 Identify loads, hoist, transport loads in a safe manner
Module 8 Centre of gravity
Module 9 Principal of leverage
Module 10 Good slinging practice
Module 11 Inspection of slings
Module 12 Correct use of slings and shackles

Novice Training: 5 days
Intermediate Training: 3 days
Refresher Training: 1 day
